Summertime is upon us which means it’s time to which out the shoes. While my taste in high heels is far reaching, most folks are surprised to find my taste in sandals/summer shoes is traditional.
You won’t find any blooming flowers or loud color flip flops in my closet (although I’m looking for a pair of blue flip flops). Maybe it came from living in Europe for so many years, but I can’t wear over the top summer shoes. Give me a nice pair of black, brown, or red Tod’s classic moccasins and I’m fine.
Matter of fact, that’s exactly what’s in my closet: three pair of Tod’s, a few Mary Jane’s and leather loafers, and a couple of high heel sandals. As such, I’m in the market for a new pair of leather flip flops. My mom pointed me in the direction of Naturalizer.
“Naturalizer?!” I almost screamed. “Those are for old people.”
Not anymore. I found some comfortable and cute shoes. Yeah, the granny ones were still there but I looked passed those. The sales ladies were so nice and help me find my perfect fit, not like the bitches at Lord and Taylor yesterday.
Anyway, I found a pair of bronze sandals—not actually what I was looking for but when I put them on I didn’t want to take them off. I wore them home. I know, I'm sad...and yes, I ordered another pair of Tod's City Loafers...I guess ten years was long enough, time to replace them.
My new "go to sandal. So comfortable!

Every WASP worth their salt has a pair of red loafers

I bought these in navy and black as well. They're light and comfortable.

Not sure they'll help the bum but I didn't want to take them off either...I purchased!

I'm into the wooden heel sandals. Truth be told, I've been into them for a quite a while. I love the Pam Grier era. I guess that is why I am so into it. I love the bell sleeves and the fitted blouses that amplify your breasts, even though I don't need it, because I am already busty. Back to topic, l love wooden heels and they look great with my short minis, shorts, and maxi dresses. Sorry about yesterday, PMS Overload hit!!!! I get very emotional.

Yeah, Ebony. You're the only woman who has PMS! Please, girlie...it's all good. I tried the wooden sandals and almost broke my fanny! I was all over the place. Felt like a Geisha, had to come off of those things. But it's funny that I can wear super high spiked heels without any problem....but wood...oh I'm going down!

It's funny because I can't walk in super spiked heels too well, but give me a pair of wooden heels, and baby its on. I guess just feel more solid on the ground. I love wedges as well, but stilettos not so much, unless it's a pair of pumps. Oh, and I have my favorite pair of brown leather flip flops on. They feel like I'm walking on air. So

Tracy, I bought a pair of the Skechers Shape-Ups and I wear them all day long. I love them! I don't know if it's my imagination but I think they are making a difference to my bum. Bum *smh* ... Girl, you have me talking like you now. LOL

Ha! I'm trying to weed out my British speak slowly. I was gonna buy a pair of Skechers Shape-Ups but I got distracted by grilled cheese. Don't ask. The traffic as killer also. I'll head back to the mall tomorrow and give them a go.

LOL I don't need to ask. I started your whole fixation with grilled cheese by telling you that's what I had for lunch.

Yeah I am not the only shoe fanatic in the world. I love all forms of heels except anything over 3 1/2 inches. Love wedges and wooden heels. Love me some flats and sandals (damn this sandal looks sexy). Sorry I'm looking at a pair on my feet it makes my tat stand out really nice.
Now if someone could just tell women and men with crusty ass feet to leave sandals alone. I would be really happy there is no reason why I need to see your hammer toes and ashy feet damn get some lotion (there is a women next me with crusty feet, corn filled toes, and every toe is different length). Now off to buy some bags to go with these shoes. |

Yes, goodness! Winter time is the best time to get your feet right..aka Gold Bond and socks (trust me, it works). When summertime rolls around, get a nice quality pedi...keep the feet lotioned and all is fine.
We saw a lady in the bank last week, her second toe was longer than the others and was hanging over the front of her sandal. I had to stop Greg from looking at her. |

Now Greg was just wrong for looking at that lady's feet like that. Hey, but I would too. Make sure your feet are right before you wear sandals. Have you ever seen people with dirty feet that have on sandals? That's just crazy to me. Why would you put on sandals and your feet are dirty and crusty on the bottom? It makes no sense. What did Greg say after yall left the bank about the lady's feet?

I love shoes but can't where wooden heels, hurts the bottom of my feet, but anything else it O N. We are in the midst of negotiating my budget for shoes, I am trying to get a dollar amount J the quantity, last offer on the table from him 20 pairs , I say $2000 but he KNOWS I will find a bodacious sell and get too many (can't accept 20 pairs since I've already bought 14 pairs).

No one else comes into my view when it comes to shoes. The best part about Matt is that he buys me shoes as gifts, man that's the best gifts I've ever recieved from a man. He bought me a beautiful pair of vintage cowboy boots for Valentine's Day. Now, I'm gunning for two pairs of sequined low top converse as part of my birthday gift, yea I'm getting shoes for my birthday I cannot wait. But there's never a budget for shoes there's just shoes. LOL. I love wooden heels surprsingly, I find them comfortable. I can't do spikes but I decided to save my money and buy a pair of Loubantin's and those are actually comfortable cause they ain't cheap. But a good pair of wedges are my favorites. I bought a great pair of sandals from my bff, those will be going with me to Mexico in June cause all I'll be doing is wearing flip flops, no-bra, and bikini tops and sundresses. I can't wait!!!

LOL...I need to tell J to buy me shoes as gifts instead of jewels (barely wear what I have) since he picks a lot of them when we shop together.
He FORCED me to donate shoes that he said were too small so I have to replace them, he said I need a budget when my aunt and I bought over $30K in shoes during one of her "power" shoe shopping trips. I offered to give up one of my vintage Chanel suits to rescind my agreement on a budget for shoes so he knows I am serious. |

Carol, OMG that is legend with shopping for shoes. Unfortunately I'm not a jewelry kind of gal I wish I was but when I was married I only had my diamond wedding ring and just wasn't interested in another ring. And it's not that I don't love diamonds I do but I wear the same jewelry everyday, the stuff I get from Target, love Target LOL. I regularly donate my shoes but now that you've said that it reminds me to go through that bind and start donating stuff. LOL.

Summer is all about having my toes out, my feet have been confined for the winter months so when Spring shows up it's off with them confining shoes, my feet need to be free! So it's a pedicure every two weeks because I can't stand any woman in sandals with her feet looking like hooves. Ladies, please all you is a pumice stone and some lotion. Oh Seattle is notorious for having women with ugly feet, I'm sorry, I love my town but some of these chicks feet should not ever be seen outside in public. And no chipped toenail polish. So it's time for me to get my sandal, leather flip flop, plastic flip flop, high heeled sandal and flip flop thing on. Unless I'm going to work my feet will stay uncovered and in bright colored shoes, only time they will be covered is my low top canvas converse in colors not seen in nature and I'm going to get a pair that have sparklies all over them because I love sparkly shoes. There is much about me that is conservative but my shoes show my wild side.

Greg forced me to donate a lot of shoes each season. He's nice about and actually helps me go through them. The thing is he has a sneaker fetish (he's a runner). They have to be super white, no marks or anything. One mark and he won't wear them....needless to say Goodwill loves us.
Oh I'm doing a blog post tomorrow about bad feet. Yves, sent me a picture of this womans' heels....of gross! I'm a pumice stone and lotion sorta gal, I don't understand the cracked heel bit. |

Oh good, Tracy I'm glad you're shed some light on that abomination. Please can we get some intervention for people with crusty feet, good gracious LOL. And I'm talking to men too cause they got some jacked up feet and it just doesn't have to be that way. This town is dry, super dry so if you don't anything on your feet, your arms or your legs as black people we just start to look gray and it's not cute. I started using Johnson's baby oil because lotion wasn't cutting it for me here, it's so dry. Works much better, smells good too especially that bedtime relaxation Johnson and Johnson stuff.
Also I love those red mocs, very cute. |
