I wanted to say thank you for your kind words of encouragement as BC was making his exit from our home. It lasted all of two days. I figured being away from us would be difficult and it was. He screamed, cried, and vomited his way back home.
We received a call from Shawn, BC’s father, late one night saying that BC was having a melt down. I talked to him on the phone and he calmed down enough to tell me all about his day in the park and all the animals he saw at the zoo.
But then it was time to hang up and he collapsed again so Greg drove into NYC to see him. He ended up staying overnight and everyone Shawn, Zora, Momma Ames, BC, and Greg, came back to Greenwich the next day because Eva was marching in the Memorial Day parade.
We grilled and everyone hung out as normal. The guys smoked cigars and drank some brown booze out of a funny looking glass while kicking back by the pool. Eventually they became bored and started hitting random shit with sticks—golf balls, squash balls, one another. Typical WASPy Memorial Day, save the trip to Newport. I mention Newport because I really wanted to go visit Greg’s aunt. She was the first of the Old Guard to welcome me into their family. It’s gonna suck when she dies.
Moving on…
I had my BC so all was right in Tracyland. He’s a clever little boy. He knew that if he’d taken his bath and gotten dressed for bed we wouldn’t make him go back to NYC with Shawn. With that being said, he crept over to Greg and asked him to give him a bath. Greg gave him a bath and dressed him for bed. When it was time for Shawn and Zora to leave, BC told them goodnight and ran upstairs to my bedroom, locked the door, and crawled in bed with me.
He’s still here.
Shawn is an amazing father and wants what’s best for BC, so we’re working on an arrangement that’ll allow him to bond with BC without removing him from the house cold turkey. Obviously that didn’t work. Greg and Shawn are close as brothers and they think alike—very rational. I’m sure they’ll come to an arrangement after Shawn completes his mandatory flight hours for NetJets.
Until then I have my BC right where he belongs. Damn, my blog post are getting longer and longer! I'll have to fit that.

You still have your BC. Love how he locked the door, he had no intentions of leaving. That is going to be hard, no matter the arrangement. I don't see him ever wanting to leave you based on all you've shared with us about your relationship with him. I hope you all can find away to make his transition easy!

Thanks Ladies. Most likely Shawn will move in with us for a while. Um, just like everyone else does! lol. We thought is would be easier on BC if Shawn moved into our place in NYC but it wasn't...BC wanted to come home.
He and BC have a good relationship but BC doesn't quite understand that our house is abnormal. Not everyone has the wide aray of people living under one roof. He loves when Shawn comes but he wants him to stay. I don't know. I'll have to talk to my mom. I don't wanna scar the kid for life. |

Aww poor baby! Yeah moving him out of your house cold turkey is too much for him. Maybe Shawn moving in with you guys for a little while might be a good idea. Or maybe start BC with at first by just spending weekends with Shawn and slowly ease him into it. I'm sure you guys will come to an arrangement that will work out best for everyone. That way you will be able to still spend time with BC and be in his life. I know how much I miss seeing my niece everyday since my sister moved to Georgia. But I talk to her all time over the phone and I try to go and vist a couple times a year.

Most likely it'll come down to Shawn moving in with us which he's open to do. He has to familiarize himself with BC's schedule and being a full-time dad altogether. Greg is teaching him the ropes. I'm leaving it to them to sort out. Until then BC and I are happy campers. :)
