Last week was the first time in over ten years that Greg and I have spent alone. No kids, no pets, no friends and family. It was just the two of us. It was also the first time I've been away from BC.
After taking care of the business that brought us back to the East coast, we did nothing out of the ordinary until he and ZS left for Montreal. You know how you expect there'll be a "Woot Woot Freedom!" moment? Well, it wasn't. I think this is because we, as a couple, never stopped dating one another. In which case being surrounded by our day-to-day madness or completely alone has little affect on us.
I know, boring, right?
Anyway, we returned to Iowa, sadly BC was asleep when we got in. I got up early this morning and decided to cook breakfast for everyone. I'm reckoning BC is going to be happier than a pig in poo to see us. Wrong! He wanted to know why there were no eggs on his plate.
My little man is growing up! There was a time when I couldn't go to the bathroom without seeing his little fingers peeking beneath the door. Now he's Mr. Independent; he's not worried that we won't come back. Every night he called to give me the ran-down of his day, but he never asked when we were coming back. I'm so proud of him.
Well, we have another week here before we return home for good and Momma Ames isn't thrilled. As a matter of fact, she's trying to talk us into staying. Admittedly, the level of stress here is zero percent. I'll let Greg decide.

I was sorry to see you all go, but I'm glad you are enjoying the slower place. Just come back and visit the CT every once in a while. I don't think you can pull BC from the farm life anyways.

Olga, BC has turned into a mini farmer, but the cow smells still make him gag. It's the funniest sight. My little man comes home green! Greg says we're staying one more week so that's that. Momma Ames should come with us.

Olga, it looks like we'll be visiting Tracy in Iowa next year. I'm going to start looking for some cute overalls.

What's funny is that I proposed we stay until the end of the year but Greg was totally against it. LOL! Hell, I needed the rest!

Why am I picturing BC in a straw hat and some overalls looking all "Tom Sawyer" or "Huck Finn"? I'm such a farm stereotyper.

Mark, BC does have overalls but I drew the line at the straw hat. Nope, a baseball hat will do just fine. He's country until it comes to fouls smells...then he's hardcore city. To his credit he tries to help with the cows. lol!
