Thanks Judy! This was one of the longest interviews I've done. Interesting guy.

Great interview! My husband laughs at me every few days when I tell him I have a few new story ideas, which can be a bit problematic when you are working on 2 or 3 stories already. Even though I know everyone has their own style of writing some days I wonder if I'm going about my writing in a really productive way. So it is nice to read about someone else that has a similar mindset as I do when it comes to writing. I will certainly be looking forward to reading his work.

What was your family and friends reaction to your profession?

As a writer? Well, I've known I wanted to be a writer since I was young...that's not new. Sex Scene: An Anthology is truly a collection of literary works, more than just straight erotica, so I haven't made a leap into full erotica. I'm still a literary fiction type of guy.
I actually haven't told my parents too much about Sex Scene...they're pretty old fashioned. Ha. |

How far along is your "Impossible Monsters" manuscript? Is it complete?

Hi Antonio. It is completely finished, yes. Just trying to find a home for it now. Ha.

Lovely interview, Tracy. I feel like I've been sitting under a rock because I expected Robert Russell to be the usual 30something young man, ie, too urban, speechwise, so I had my "urban dictionary" next to me. Was pleasantly surprised as well with his influences (Faulkner/Ellis). There's hope yet for our world!.
I do have one question: where can I get an autographed hard copy?. Don't snicker, Tracy at my lack of being able to follow the links!. One of your headings was "The Robert James Russell interview is now available" and it took me forever and a day to figure out you meant under "author interviews....". |

Unfortunately I don't have any autographed copies just yet, but stay tuned and I'll let you know when that changes.
I do hope you still get your hands on the book though, and let me know what you think! |

great interview, I enjoyed seeing something new besides the usual short erotica stories. I'll definitely check Mr. Russell's site and books.
ps. I also love William C. Faulkner not as much as Twain and T Williams. I got hooked on his dark & tragic tales back in high school, thanks to my English teacher who forced us to read 'The Sound & the Fury'. |

Thank you, Hodan. Please feel free to check out the news articles and interviews. There are more to come. And please see Robert's work. He's an absolute gem. It's funny that you mention Twain...I was telling my husband that I saw a twinkle of Twain in Robert's writing.

A twinkle of Twain? I'll take it! But I am a big fan of Mr. Clemens as well. :)
