Tracy Ames
My name is Tracy Ames. I’m an author of interracial erotic fiction. My stories are a sensual feast for your senses; mind, body and soul.
I began writing short stories for monthly newsletters and, believe it or not, my friends. After much encouragement, I’m ready to offer you a taste of what only a few have previously savored.
A native of the San Francisco Bay area, I currently split time between Greenwich CT & New York City with my husband, young daughter and a host of pets.

Hey Folks,
One of the lit groups I belong to is having a writers’ challenge: Revamp a classic using the elements of your genre. In my case this means adding dash of interracial eroticism. Cool!
Of course I chose Fanny Hill the first erotic book in England. Per Wiki: One of the most prosecuted and banned books in history, it has become a synonym for obscenity. You know it’s bad when the book was published in 1748 but wasn’t legalized until 1966. Gotta love censorship!
I’ll share the finished product with you also. If you’re not familiar with the book, check out the e-book here. If you’d like to see the film adaptation and don’t mind Spanish subtitles, click here.

Look for it in the next two weeks. Since it's a group related project, I'm going by their time table.

Never read "Fanny Hill" but since I love the classics I'm
going to pick it up. Plus I want to read it before I read your work. Is it going to be a period piece? I know period pieces can be challenging especially IRE which usually have a sad ending. Be that as it may I know you're up to the challenge so I'm looking forward to reading it. Let us know how your group session goes. |

It's a good one. John uses very colorful lingo that has modern day erotic writer worshiping at his feet to this day. It's set in 1748 England so it can be called a period piece.
What makes re-writing Fanny Hill with an interracial twist so easy is that John's work was sooo ahead of it's time, that it feels like it was written last week. Characters are flexible—the plot, while not universal, is unapologetic and allows me wiggle room, and leaves a big fat question mark for the readers to interpret for themselves. My kind of book! |
