Hey Folks,
I heart Barack Obama! Not in a creepy stalker way, but I genuinely ‘like’ the guy. My family worked tirelessly on his behalf and even scored tickets to the inauguration (See MySpace pictures). It was awesome! I guess after 8 years of Mr. & Mrs. Bush, it’s good to see a real family in The White House.
I remember working the campaign and watching him think. That’s the trait I find most endearing about him…he’s a thinker. And when he needs to bounce ideas off of someone, he turns to his wife.
Michelle Obama is one of the most down- to-earth people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. There is nothing fake about her. If you haven’t heard the story of the any traps, it’s pretty funny.
It’s a tale of how a man goes from saving the world to footin’ it to the 24 hour Walgreens. I believe it’s in one of his books but its better if you’ve heard them tell it. It goes something like this:
Barack (in DC) calls Michelle (in Chicago)
Barack: Remember the bill we’ve been trying to get passed? The one about shoulder fired missiles? Remember I mentioned it would save hundreds of innocent lives?
Michelle: Yeah. (deadpan)
Barack: Well it passed today! (giddy)
Michelle: Oh yeah.
Barack: Yeah!
Michelle: Barack.
Barack: Yes. (not so giddy)
Michelle: We have ants.
Barack: Ants.
Michelle: Yeah, ants. Ants in the downstairs bathroom.
Barack: Ants downstairs.
Michelle: Yeah, pick up some ant traps on your way home. (click)
Gotta love it!

Thank you! That's the same thing I've been screaming for the last few months. If you have a chance to get involved in his re-election camp. do so. It was soooo much fun.

I think it is just refreshing to have a President who seems so smart, as well as has his home life nailed down. Though I was/am a Prez. Clinton fan, it is nice to look forward to a Presidency that does not have sex scandals lurking around every corner.
Obama, is inclusive to all views, but is willing to stand strong regarding the points that are important to him. You know when he says something he has thought it out. It's Amazing-we have a President who sounds like he's read a book. |

Olga, you nailed it. I found it amazing that he really does think about everything he does. He puts as much thought into choosing a family dog as he does sorting out the college financial aid mess (check out the Barbara Walters interview).
To see him and Michelle interact with one another is not unlike the way we can with our husbands. It's just natural...nothing forced or staged. Michelle can throw the raised 'Momma eyebrow' just like us! Love them so much. I can't wait to get back to work for them! Okay, I'll stop before I get giddy. |
