Today is Lovely Eva’s birthday and how are we celebrating? Classic WASP fashion of course, overkill. Christopher, Eva’s “friend” and his parents are in town for the weekend so we’re making a day of it.
This morning Greg pulled himself out of bed and cooked her favorite breakfast and we all sat around talking until the Eva and Christopher left for the mall to buy her an outfit for tonight. Not to worry, BC went along as the chaperon because you know he’ll come back and tell it all!
We, the parents, have been in the house most of the day shooting the breeze and acting like teenagers. We’ll be sure to pull ourselves together before the kids return. Thankfully I finished my writing for the day before all hell broke loose.
Later this evening we’re having dinner at some mom & pop joint Eva adores and then the kids are going to the movies after she opens her gifts.
I must say I’m exceedingly proud of Eva. She’s a straight “A” honors student, very respect to us and those around her and she’s extremely level headed.
And when it comes to Christopher she’s very realistic and focused. Everything: outings, his visiting for the weekend, gifts and so on are all cleared with her father before hand….mind you; she laid down these rules, not us.
And Christopher, bless his heart. We love him dearly. He’s an honors student, works on the weekends, plays sports and is head over heels for a girl who insists he not call her after 8:00pm because she spends that time with her dad. This boy has patience!
That’s it for now. I’d better run before the cats kill one another.
Happy Birthday Lovely Eva! Your parents are soooo proud of you. Kisses my beautiful child.

That's a lovely blog, your daughter sounds like a lovely young lady. And I don't use that word loosely. I have four teenage nephews and 2 nieces that are pre-teens and one niece that's a toddler. I'm not a mom myself but I love being an aunt. These kids are awesome, my two oldest nephews who are brohters are in college, the other one is on his way to full academic scholoarship and play football for Humboldt State and the one who's two years from graduating and a mini CSI is the handsome, mannerable, sweet kid. And those nieces are beautiful and fun. Isn't it nice to have great kids in your family that you can brag about and be proud of.
Happy Birthay to your daughter. |

Thank you, Eugenia. Eva is amazing and yes, it dag-on good to be able to brag out having good children opose to wanting to kill them. Thank heavens!
Your nieces and nephews sounds like they have their heads on straight. Keep up the good work with them. Humboldt State? Isn't that in Northern California? I'm from the Bay Area. |

Yes, it is Northern California. My bro and sis in law live in the Bay Area. Mama can't have him too far from home, LOL. I love that place, if I wasn't so love with the Pacific Northwest I'd move there in two seconds.
