I miss Eva. I didn't think allowing her to return to Switzerland full-time would be this difficult but it has been. Yes, BC has been more than enough company but I miss my girl.
She and a few classmates went to Nice this weekend and she sent pictures home. Boy, you forget how fast they grow up! Greg called her and demanded she put some clothes on. I kindly pointed out that he bought the bathing suit she was wearing. He didn't cotton to my remark. :)
BC is adjusting to her absence. He talks about her all of the time--I think this is his way of coping. Well, that and sleeping in her room. We're very fortunate that she told such an active role with him. Seriously, these two are like white on rice. Remember the turtle incident? That was just one example of their weirdness!
Anyway, Eva and I talked for a little while earlier today but, as always, she was in the middle of something or headed off to one of her many activities. Greg hasn't spoken to her for more than five minutes at a time, shocking. I guess our little girl is growing up. I miss my little peanut head, can't wait to see her in Dec. She'd better come home! :(

Tracy, I don’t know how you and Greg do it. I was without my baby for 14 months (deployment+ waiting for visa paperwork) he was only 4 and now at the age of 9 mentally at times I still see my baby as the 4 year old kid I left instead of a 9 nine old boy, who will be towering over me in a few years . Being that Eva is a daddy little girl, it will be even tougher on Greg. They do grow up too fast. I wish they could stay infants longer than time allows but at least she is enjoying herself.

It's been extremely tough on Greg. He mask it with a host of other things but in the end he's pining for his girl. He's even mentioned going over to Switzerland for turkey day. Deployments were tough so I understand how you feel. Johnston Atoll was by far the hardest because Greg and Eva couldn't visit and calls were next to impossible.

As much as me and my daughter clash, I can't imagine her being in another country. I would miss her so much. Do you skype?

We have Skype but she's hard to catch up with. Her school activities are demending. Her day starts around 4am and going until 10:30pm. She's a busy bee!

She will... I understand. My son is in NYC going to school...doesn't call me much at all. But, you have to let her go. I 'm glad she is having such a great time.

Thanks Moni. She's back in her element; surrounded by her childhood friends and lifelong teachers. :) Still miss her though. Hope your son calls soon.

You are blessed with great kids who are close. Eva is awesome, you and Greg did an amazing job with that lady. It's funny how the universe puts us in our place. Remember when you were her age? I bet you were just as busy. As parents, its our turn to watch our kids run around at top speed. Karma's a ...well you know. ; )

Lady, tell me about it. Eva is our little gem, now our little gem is off being a big girl. You know that sleep talking thing you do? Yep, that was her last night. She was knackered! She had a short break between class and dance so she called. I don't know how she's doing it.

My daughter has been in college since August 30, and she calls all the time. She is only 2 1/2 hours from us though and keeps us updated with everything that is going on .

Oh thanks Wanda! I feel so much better now....:-|
Eva called yesterday sounding as though she was on the verge of collapse. She's working way too hard. |
